“I just stole fifty cars in one night! I’m a little tired, little wired, and I think I deserve a little appreciation!” Randall “Memphis” Raines (Nicolas Cage)

In 2000 a remake of the 1974 film, starring Nicolas Cage called “60 seconds” was made, in which another model was designed from a 1967 GT with the Shelby GT500E kit of accessories and exteriors. The latter became a cult object for fans of the model who appreciate the classic touches of the car but at the same time with a renewed and aggressive look. As for the mechanical components, the engine, transmission and brakes were changed to increase their performance and even make it easier for pilots to drive during filming.

The multiple vehicles made for the film were destroyed and some were restored for later sale by some enthusiasts. Some restorers are now modifying the classic Mustang GT500 to literally transform it into an ‘Eleanor’.
