“There are no crown princes at ford.” Edsel Bryant Ford

The Mercury brand belonged to the Ford Motor Company group. Their models were based on chassis and bodywork of Ford vehicles but with luxury aesthetic details, however they used the same engines.

The 68 Mercury Cougar had the base engine of a V8 289 that offered 200 horsepower. But not only this was available, you could also choose between a V8 427 and a V8 428 that produced 390 and 335 horsepower respectively. With the most power, ie with the V8 427 reached 0 to 100 in 7.1 seconds. Unlike the latter, the V8 428 met the Federal emissions requirements, but, out of paper, most experts believed that the power of this engine was closer to 390 hp of 427 than far.

Friki collector, this is your Hot Wheels!
