“Movement is the universal language of personal freedom” Louis Chevrolet
The Pontiac Firebird is a sporty coupe produced between 1967 and 2002 in four distinct generations. It can easily be confused with its twin, the Chevrolet Camaro, from which the Firebird is a direct result. Their chassis is of the “F-Body” type and some parts are interchangeable between the models of the two brands. The Pontiac Firebird could get many engines (V6 and V8).
In 1973, the year of the pontiac firebird, the small eagle that had been on the Trans Am bumper since 1970 was transposed onto the hood but in very large format, it covered almost the entire surface. It will be known colloquially as “Screamin’ Chicken”, or “screaming chicken”. Then comes a second version of the V8 455 ci, the SD-455 “Super Duty” whose performance was exceptional in these years of restrictions. Surprisingly, as the glorious era of Muscle Cars begins to fade away.
