“How do you move from this tranquility to that violence?” Brenda.
“I usually use the Ferrari.” Sonny
The car we instinctively associate with detective Sonny Crockett is the mythical white Ferrari Testarossa with which he chases the baddies through the streets of Miami in Corruption in Miami. But before, during the first two seasons, there was another Ferrari (or at least that’s what they wanted us to see), a Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Spyder, which as the title says, was not such, but was a replica based on the Chevrolet Corvette of 1980.
Unlike its rivals who had switched to the rear-wheel-drive configuration, the 365 GTB/4 remained true to the traditional architecture of front engine and rear-wheel drive. Despite this theoretical disadvantage, thanks to the good design and tuning of the chassis, the Daytona was perfectly capable of facing without complexes a Lamborghini Miura or Tomaso Pantera. Derived from the Ferrari 330’s engine, the Daytona’s had a twelve-cylinder, 4.4-litre V-cylinder architecture, powered by six Weber carburetors and capable of delivering 352 hp (259 kW), enough to launch it up to a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).
Feel like a real Special Police with this piece of car!
