Scavenger hunts (sometimes T-Hunts) are series of Hot Wheels main line segment cars introduced by Mattel in 1995. They started as 12 cars every year; one released per month. Now, there can be 12 or 15 T-fighters. The original production started at 10,000 pieces worldwide, and has since grown due to the demand and growing popularity of the Hot Wheels collection. In 2007, 157 scavenger hunts were launched.
The first vehicles so far…
The early Treasure Hunt Vehicles were identifiable by a label on the package. The blister card said “Treasure Hunt” or “T-Hunt” on a green bar with an illustration of a treasure chest. The cars were typically decorated with flashy designs.In recent years, T-hunts has seen new developments.
The Super T-hunts lasted for a while and in 2012, the Super T-hunts were integrated into the series of segments. Regular T hunters had the regular T hunting series. Then in 2013, the mainline did it’s big changes. Like new models, the 2013 Treasure Hunts were mixed in with the normal cars, identifiable by a small flame symbol.
Thanks to their new developments, you will be able to see with your own eyes these incredible cars in your collection. What true collector or amateur would not want to have a car in the “Treasure Hunts” category. They’re just waiting for you.
