Turn Collectibles Into Your Space at ICONS

Not every great product comes with available cash behind it. Sometimes there is more product than money. And in collecting, that is normal.

At ICONS, we want to make participation as accessible and flexible as possible. That is why we offer the possibility to exchange selected collectibles for exhibitor tables. The idea is simple: if you hold strong, liquid product with real market value, that value may help you secure your space at the event.

At the same time, this has to work in a fair and realistic way for everyone involved. Once a product is accepted, ICONS takes on the responsibility of reselling it independently. Because of that, only real market value matters to us. We cannot work from emotional value, personal purchase history, or unsupported asking prices. What matters is what a product can realistically be sold for in the current market.

Our Valuation Logic

Every accepted product is valued based on real market data. To estimate market value, we review relevant references such as:

  • Collectr
  • eBay sold listings
  • Other platforms with reliable transaction-based sales data

We use this information to determine a reasonable market average.

Accepted Categories

We currently review proposals in the following categories:

  • Sports Cards
  • TCG
  • Diecast

Why only 80% of market value applies

Even when a product has a clear market value, converting it into cash involves cost, time, and risk. That includes, for example:

  • Platform fees (our Shopify platform when "selling" these tables via trade)
  • Commission and payment processing fees for the sales
  • Time required to list and manage the sale
  • Market fluctuations and liquidity risk
  • Storing, inventory, packaging and shipping effort

For that reason, the exchange value applied toward tables is 80% of the accepted market value. This is not intended to undervalue the item. It reflects the practical reality that ICONS must liquidate the product after accepting it.

Example:
If an item has an accepted market value of €100 based on average last sold listings on eBay, its table exchange value will be €80.

Sports Cards and TCG

For sports cards and TCG, we mainly look for products that are both desirable and realistically liquid in the short term.

What we prioritize

  • PSA 10 cards with real and recent sales history
  • Cards with an active and proven market
  • Pieces with clear transaction-based valuation support

Exceptions may be considered

We may also review non-PSA 10 cards where the piece is particularly exceptional, rare, iconic, or otherwise highly relevant. That said, acceptance remains entirely at ICONS’ discretion.

Diecast

For diecast, we apply the same core logic: real market value, real liquidity, and realistic resale potential.

What we prioritize

  • Premium models
  • STH (Super Treasure Hunt)
  • RLC (Red Line Club)

What we evaluate

  • Market demand & Rarity
  • Recent sales activity & Realistic resale potential
  • Overall condition & Packaging or blister condition

Not every diecast item will qualify. The key question is whether the piece can realistically be resold by us within a reasonable timeframe.

How to Submit a Proposal

Your email should include:

  • Clear photos showing the overall condition
  • A short description of the item
  • Your suggested market value
  • The table you would like to reserve

Once a product and its market value are approved, the selected table can be reserved within 24/48 hours, during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00).

General Conditions

  • All proposals are subject to review and approval by ICONS. Sending a proposal does not guarantee acceptance.
  • ICONS reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal at its sole discretion and is not required to provide a detailed explanation for any rejection.
  • Final valuation for exchange purposes is determined solely by ICONS. Only market-supported value is relevant.
  • Exchange value is always calculated at 80% of the accepted market value.
  • Approved value can only be used toward exhibitor tables at the event.
  • ICONS may limit accepted quantities or categories at any time for operational reasons.
  • As an established business you have to send us an invoice of the traded items with their agreed value. As a collector without a business you have to fill out a trade form. In both cases we will issue an invoice with 10% VAT for the traded tables.
  • What is not included: Shipping costs, Customs or import costs, Unsold listing prices without transaction proof, Future speculative value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because we know that in collecting, value is not always sitting in cash. Many collectors and sellers have strong inventory but limited liquidity at a given moment. We want to make participation easier where possible, while keeping the system fair and workable.
Because ICONS must resell the accepted product itself. That means the only value that matters is the real value the item can reasonably achieve in the current market.
Because selling product comes with costs, time, and risk. Fees, platform commissions, and the effort involved in liquidating the item all affect the actual recoverable value.
A repeated proposal may be submitted, but acceptance is never guaranteed. Even if a product was accepted before, ICONS may reject it later depending on inventory, current demand, category exposure, or resale expectations.
Yes, this may be possible. In some cases, part of the table value can be covered by accepted product and the remaining amount paid in cash. This is always reviewed case by case.
Yes. You may submit one item or several items. ICONS will review the proposal and determine the total approved exchange value.
Sometimes. In general, we prioritize products with stronger market clarity, especially PSA 10 cards. Raw cards or non-PSA 10 cards may still be considered if they are exceptional enough.
No. Asking prices alone are not sufficient. We mainly rely on actual sales data and other transaction-based market evidence.
No. Shipping, customs, import charges, and similar external costs are not included in the valuation.
No. A table is only reserved once the item has been approved, the exchange value has been confirmed, and the requested table has been accepted by ICONS.
Yes. To keep the process efficient and manageable, ICONS reserves the right to reject proposals without providing a detailed explanation.
